Spirit Boards have brought endless hours of entertainment to those who have ventured to play. Spirit boards, witchboards, oracle boards, and mystery boards are all guises of the talking board. Though talking boards made their debut in America circa 1890, many incarnations appeared by the mid-1800s in Europe. Some believe that spirit boards open doorways to the unknown. Others use them merely as a game, enjoyed during candlelit gatherings on dark, stormy nights. Through decades of conjuring and controversy, their popularity has been unwavering.

Throughout history witchboards, oracle boards, spirit boards and ouija boards have been used in seeking answers to questions of love, money, life, the future....

Ouija Boards usually consist of the letters of the alphabet, 0-9 in numbers and the words, "Yes" and "No." The user or users of the board lightly touch a pointer (sometimes called a planchette) and the pointer moves and spells out the answers to questions asked of the ouija. Usually this pointer is mounted on castors to help it move freely about the board.
